Unadjusted Year Over Year: Commerce Department New Home Sales Down 11.5%, Median Price Down 3.6%

Here's my quick look at today's Commerce Department New Home Sales:

• Key Numbers: New Houses Sold Unadjusted: 23,000, Year Ago: 26,000, Year Over Year %: -11.54 Median Price Unadjusted: $221,300, Year Ago: $229,600, Year Over Year %: -3.61.

Here's my uneducated (also not not spun by guys trying to make you a sucker) interpretation - Still no recovery in housing construction. One oddball thing that appeared in the numbers (that I don't usually report) is that the average house price actually rose year over year (from $263,100 to $290,600) Don't know what to make of that.
